At Hallam Community Centre, we provide
a warm, friendly and homely atmosphere for our children's groups.
Our leaders and childcare assistants are caring and experienced
at providing a wide range of activities as the children learn to
socialise.

PLAYGROUPS WITH PARENTS
Playgroup sessions are structured
programs with a variety of activities to stimulate children from
the age of 1 year to school age.
We provide many activities to promote
growth in all areas as listed below:
- Story time promotes language development and listening skills,
comprehension skills and introduction to new vocabulary.
- Games instigate, awareness of others, turn taking and develops
cooperative skills while interacting and learning to share with
others
- Outside play, including swings, bikes, and large climbing structure
strengthens body coordination, improves balance, speed and agility
while burning off energy.
- Playing in the Cubby house, promotes imaginative play and social
interaction

- Sandpit / Water play promotes creativity and stimulates sensory
skills while promoting cooperative play
- Music stimulates creativity, sensory listening skills, body
awareness and movement and rhythm
- Painting, Pasting, Puzzles & playdough, promote, creativity,
tune fine motor skills and teach children to use expression and
experimentation with various materials
- Snack time, provides social awareness of others, increases
self help skills and develops healthy eating patterns
- Messy play, promotes sensory stimulation, imagination and constructive
thinking
Children in occasional care also attend playgroup sessions.
Fees
$45.00 for one child, $55.00 for two children
A 50% deposit is required before term starts with full payment due
by the 2nd week of term
PARENT SUPPORT
We provide:
- Referral to more specialised support
agencies
- Assistance with management of problem behaviours
- Learning positive parenting skills
- Peer support and networking where parents exchange
useful information, build friendships with local families and
enjoy some adult conversation.
As parents unwind and relax, the staff
guides the children in the games and activities on offer, then clean
up after each sesion.
LEARNING & GROWING FOR
THREE YEAR OLDS
These groups are planned and supervised
by, trained and experienced leaders who have a genuine kind and
caring rapport with children. The leader is assisted by a trained
childcare worker
A child focused program is drawn up with the leaders experience,
to enhance all areas of children's development.
Our staff endeavor to provide a program that stimulates and motivates
the children in preparation for Kindergarten; we also base our program
on the importance of community and culture as part of their lives
Children develop life skills that will be enhanced as they journey
through school and beyond

Activities that are provided promote both fine and gross motor skills,
emotional, social language and self help skills, cognitive skills
and creativity
Fees
$150.00/Monday 3 hours , $120/Tues & Wed 2 1/2 hours
per term for 1 session weekly - A 25% discount is offered on booking
a 3rd session. A 50% deposit is required before term starts balance
is payable by 2nd week of term
OCCASIONAL
CARE
Occasional care is available for
parents who wish to leave their children so that they can partake
in other activities such as courses within the centre, shopping,
appointments etc
Occasional care children participate in the playgroup sessions
Fees
$ 10.00 maximum per session for 1 child, $15.00 for 2 children
Fee discounts may be available to parents attending courses within
the centre
ROLLERS & CRAWLERS
Playgroup for Expectant and new mums
& bubs 15 Months and under. Come along and share your experiences,
get advice from other mums and take a break.
Mondays at 1.30pm Cost $1.00 per week
Professional occasional care facilities available for older siblings
if required.
DAD'S PLAYGROUP
This group gaives dads a chance to
do something different with their kids on the weekend.
Saturday mornings 10:00am - 12:00
Cost $2.00 per family per week
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Parents/guardians are required to
fill in enrolment and medical forms so that in the case of an emergency
we can provide medical attention when needed.
All families are required to become members of our Centre
Cost $8.00 per family / $5.00 per single or concession
Payment plans can be arranged if required, please speak to our friendly
office staff.
We are a SUNSMART CENTRE and all children
attending any session are required to bring a hat.
